2009 City Elections

2009 is a municipal election year in Newton, with a preliminary election on September 15 and general on November 3.  In Newton, the Mayor is elected every four years and members of the Board of Aldermen and School Committee every two.  For the former two, most seats are "at-large" meaning candidates campaign on a city-wide basis.  This means lots of candidates to keep track of, and this year many of them are Newton Dems!

The Newton Democratic Party does not make endorsements in municipal elections, which are non-partisan.  However, we would like to highlight those individuals seeking office who have been dedicated Newton Dems.  All of them would welcome your help and involvement on their campaigns.
